Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone (PVP)

Polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) is a non-ionic polymer compound. It is the most distinctive and widely studied fine chemical compound among N-vinyl amide polymers. Has developed into a non-ionic, cationic, anionic category, industrial grade, pharmaceutical grade, food grade specifications, relative molecular mass from thousands to more than one million homopolymers, copolymers and cross-linked polymer products .And is widely used for its excellent unique performance.

Chemical stability PVP has good thermal stability. There was no significant change when heating in air below 130~140C. When the temperature exceeds 150C, PVP will crosslink. PVP can withstand higher temperatures with inert gas protection and does not undergo significant degradation for a certain period of time. PVP is sensitive to strong bases. When the two aqueous solutions are mixed and heated, gelation will occur quickly, resulting in a waterinsoluble gel.

The surface activity of surface active PVP is manifested in the fact that PVP has a solubilizing effect, a solubilizing agent for dyes in the printing and dyeing industry, and a water-soluble dispersion for increasing the solubility of certain substances which are substantially insoluble in water and having pharmacological activity. The colored substances, suspensions and emulsions in the solution are uniformly dispersed and stable, and the adsorption is easy to adsorb at many interfaces and to a certain extent, the interface surface tension is lowered. It also exhibits functions such as wetting, foam stabilization and decontamination, and is widely used in daily chemical products.
